Great music, great food
The previous reviewer clearly has mistaken this place with the skate board shop in Chinatown. Anyway, I love this place. Great bar food, great bartenders, great ambiance and great music. While I don't have any tattoos or anything, I thought all the people I chatted were very cool...and I work on the hill.
I'll be back, and I wanna try their brunch which I've heard is incredible.

It's the Music Stupid!
The 9:30 Club isn't really a bar, it's music venue. You won't go there for the food or drinks or just to hang. You go there to see a touring band you like. And it's probably the best place in DC to see a band. Great accustics for a club holding maybe 300-500 people max. You can get up next to the stage and get hit by sweat from the band or go to the balconey and look down on the band....

This place was nice. We had our company party here last year. It wasn't much to rave about...it was crowded, hot, loud. The food was mediocre. The drinks were all well made. We all had a really good time. But definitely need to be in the club kind of mood to go here. Music was good and there was planty of room to dance once you got to the floor.

This was a very nice club. I visited DC over the weekend and friends took us here! We had a cool time. I had to say the name of this club a couple of times before I got it right. Good atmosphere. DJ played reggae and hip hop!

Ultrabar (aka Home) is a small, multi-level club with actually courteous bouncers and decent dj's. The male crowd usually seems older (mid-30's-50's, yes, 50's) than the females (18-30), and a little sleazier, but the bartenders have always been friendly and efficient in my experience, and the music is always pumping, so it's usually a good time. Shout out to DJ Tektronics! The main floor...
